Message: Ok, I added this to Pd-extended. Be very careful to not copy things that are not being translated. I.e. if "DSP" is going to remain "DSP", then it should look like this:
msgid "DSP" msgstr ""
NOT like this:
msgid "DSP" msgstr "DSP"
There are a number of reasons to do this. This is the way the PO system expects, msgstr "" means use the original text. Also, having the "DSP", etc. duplicated caused a weird bug where the Log menu on the Pd Window was not showing up which took me about an hour to figure out :(. And lastly, it will help your translation, since tools like POedit will show you which lines have not been translated.
hmm, i understand the reasoning, when indeed there is no translation (so PO will fallback to the original text). however, i believe there are situations where the translation looks indeed identically (on the byte level), even though it is a translation. esp. if you have fancy tools like POedit that will show you which lines have not been translated yet: if somebody did the work and concluded that the words are exactly the same in both languages, than the translation has happened, and any editor marking that as TODO only yields a false positive.
and of course, if the log menu does not show up because somebody decided (accidentally or on purpose) that they translate "DSP" with "DSP", then this is clearly a bug _elsewhere_ that should be fixed.
