I am not against pd being able to play all file formats, I hope I made this clear. I said which of the two steps is more important for me and explained why. It may be that I was telling the obvious, sorry for being that superficial then. And about your two steps in one, make sure that you don't fall.

finding workarounds might be fun for a programmer, but for the artistic use of pd??? when making music, i'd like to have a software that works out of the box!
