i think, the numberbox should only output the 1st element of the list.
btw, the same behaviour occurse with the symbolbox.
a simple fix would be to add a gatom_list() message to the gatom which deals with incoming lists.
i think the problem arose because of the "dynamic" inlet of the float/symbol-boxes: this makes the automatic list-element-to-inlet spiller think that the object has 2 inlets and thus sends the first 2 list-elements to these inlets (which in fact are just one).
it would be nice if a fix could make it into 0.40
