Hi Marc, if you want to build any flext-based externals (including the flext tutorials), you'll have to build the flext library beforehand - just unpacking the archive is not sufficient. In the flext directory, edit the config-*-*.txt file to match your system configuration, then run the build-*.* script, in your case config.pd.msvc.txt and build-pd-msvc.bat . Under Windows, running the bat file should be done from the "Visual Studio .NET 2003 Command Prompt" as already discussed.
After that step you should have flext library files in the flext subfolder of your PD installation. Then you can finally proceed building flext based externals.
good luck, Thomas
Did you build the flext library beforehand? If yes, it should reside in the flext/pd-msvc folder somewhere. You'll use have to adjust the path somewhere in the project settings of the tutorial examples, so that the library can be found.
I altered the config ...txt file and ran "build-pd-msvc.bat" - no lib created. How do I build this library (from within VC++)? Sorrf for such simple questions, but it is a show stopper (as they say here)
Thanks!

PS Just a comment. I downloaded both "flext-0.4.6-pd-win.zip" as well as "flext-tut-0.4.1-pd-win.zip". Both contain the config-pd-msvc.txt file and the corresponding .bat, but only the later (tut) contains the pd-msvc folder. Maybe it would be good to put config things in only one of the zips...
