Hi,
I have run into this. On macOS 10.9, 10.11… Pd-0.48-1 and 47, too. I just got used to NEVER ‘saving' when array is on focus. (Which is hard, because, cmd+s is a reflex.)
PS: The problem doesn't occur with the text object so I guess it could be solved. PPS: I'll create a PR on Github but I prefer to be sure that's not a known problem that I missed.

ctl+s on-focus @ [array define x] or @ menu/put/array on focus.
