Initial Comment: The 9.10 version of Ubuntu is out in 4 days from now. I tried installing pd-extended for 9.04 version but it misses dependencies - libmagick++1. In 9.10 there is libmagick++2. If i force the install PD runs OK, GEM doesnt load because opf missing libmagick++1 libraries. However if i compile GEM from sources, it is OK. Please fix the dependencies issue for Ubuntu 9.10 and make a .deb package.

Message: I don't have access to a 9.10 machine yet. It should be pretty easy to build there tho. Try it out, and we can post your build for others. FIrst install the required packages:
http://puredata.info/docs/developer/Debian
Then build the pd-extended package:
http://puredata.info/docs/developer/BuildingPdExtended
If you have any troubles, try irc://irc.freenode.net/dataflow and/or the pd-dev list: http://puredata.info/community/lists
