Yes, me too, but I thought the > might get snagged on its trip through the multitude of parsers...
For example on Windows a filename cannot contain [/:*?"<>|] so hertz->midi.dll couldn't exist.
But thanks to IOhannes' hex loader patch (included in Pd-0.38.4-extended and Pd-0.40 in CVS), you can replace those chars with hex values in filenames. So it will work fine.
