Summary: Pd extended.app shows extra process in dock
Initial Comment:
An anonymously-iconed "pd" application shows up alongside the usual Pd.app in the dock when Pd-Extended is running. Don't know when this started; it definitely hasn't always happened.
This is on both my PPC and Intel mac using 0.40 autobuilds; not sure if it occurs in 392RC2 as well.

That hint tells you how to hide the main Pd.app icon, which would be the
inverse of what you probably want.
This is the hack in question, check out the "rez_install" target in
packages/darwin_app/Makefile to see how this file is used:

Hans,
Does this help at all?

(sorry, I have no idea of the nature of the hack)

That extra icon in the dock is triggered by a hack that allows the gemwin
to act like a normal window. Perhaps there is a way to make that icon
disappear, but still let the gemwin be moveable and to be in front.

Summary: [list-len] uses [list length], which doesn't exist in 0.39
Initial Comment:
In Pd-0.39.2-extended-rc2, list-abs/list-len uses [list length], which does not exist in 0.39 at all. It was introduced in 0.40. Therefore, list-len does not work.
(it would be good to look for other 0.40isms that were included in the backport of the list-abs to 0.39.2)

Additional note: I found out, that last week I forgot to check in a
similar fix for another patch that was using [list length]: list-compare.pd
The 0.39 version is checked in now.
Should I close this bug or would you prefer to keep it open until pd-ext
rc3/final?

Actually I have fixed this in the branch "branch-v0-39-2-extended" five
days ago by reverting to a previous version, so it should be okay
automatically fixed for the next pd-extended release.
Sorry for introducing this bug in the first place.

Summary: any object not loading
Initial Comment:
In the Pd-0.39-2-extended-test7 build, the any object (iemlib) is not loaded whien instantiated in the patcher, because "any" is just an alias name to "iem_anything".
I'd suggest loading iemlib1/2 as libraries.

another way of dealing with this is to load iem_anything.dll as a library.
I did this for Pd-0.39.2-extended.

I think aliases are a bad idea in general, and a lot of work to maintain.
But anyone else can fix this if they want. Also, nothing in Pd-extended is
compiled as single-file-multi-class libraries, so that's not an option. We
know from the past that those create more problems than they solve.

this is on Mac/Intel OS.4.8 but i guess the problem is fairly unrelated to
this.

>Summary: [switch~]ing [vline~] causes ever increasing CPU usage
Initial Comment:
it was recently brought to my attention that vline~ continues storing messages it receives when dsp processing is switched off. this can lead to a gradual rise in dsp usage of patches containing vline~. i wrote a quick note about it in the documentation to warn others.

I am trying to get a external written using functions outside of Pd. I have my header files included and
the external is compiling but when I try to load it into Pd I get this error:
10): Symbol not found: _whatever-external-function
Expected in: dynamic lookup
[import]: ERROR: can't load library in FTIR_CXX
What can I do to fix this?
