Summary: red border GOP
Initial Comment:
hey,
when I have a subpatch that contains no element in it, but is a GOP, then I don't see the red GOP border.
that does not seem to be a problem. BUT...
when I use this empty subpatch and create an object in it via message command, then that red border suddenly is visible in the parent patch.
see attached file.

Summary: pd 0.39-1 GOP bounding box doesn't appear if no objects
Initial Comment:
This is minor, but confused me and made me think
something was broken:
Create a new patch, don't create any objects.
Make the patch graph-on-parent.
The red GOP bounding box doesn't appear until the first
object is created (pressing Ctrl-1 without typing an
object name is enough).
Alternatively,
Create a new patch, create some objects, delete them all.
Make the patch graph-on-parent.
The red GOP bounding box doesn't appear until a new
object is created (pressing Ctrl-1 without typing an
object name is enough).
Once GOP is activated for the first time, the bounding
box appears correctly when there are no objects, even
when GOP is turned off and on again.

Summary: menubar - window filename update
Initial Comment:
hi,
I found a minor bug. when you open a patch (or create new patch) and then "save as" (or "save" with a new patch) then that name is not updated in the menubar-window menu.
the patch is still listed under the old name or "untitled".
maybe that's only on mac 10.5. I tried pd-extended 0.40.3(080222) and the current pd 0.41-2 from millers site.

sorry, if I was not clear. to reproduce create a new patch and look in the
menubar under "Windows". It will be listed as Untitled-1 or something. then
save it as somename.pd and look again under "Windows". it is still listed
as untitled. this does not get updated until you open a new patch.

I cannot reproduce his bug on Pd-0.40.3-extended-20080427 or Pd-0.41-4 on
Mac OS X 10.4.11. If you saveas an abstraction that is in use, it will not
change the title , and it will indeed remain as that abstraction, and just
save a copy, IIRC.

- it wasn't crashing...
There haven't been any Intel builds since them afaik.

Summary: Pd extended starts animation effect on XP
Initial Comment:
This actually always happened with Pd-ext as far as I remember. Each time I start Pd-ext, the Einblendeffekt (animation? can't find a translation) gets activated. This effect is what makes the windows "travel" when they're being minimized or maximized. You find it in
- right-click on the desktop
- properties
- 4th Tab [Darstellung], display??
- effects
- 1st checkbox, [use the next effects for menus and quickinfos]
- Einblendeffekt
[the menu names were translated by me from german, they might not be correct]

created a quick help patch. [ftos] is a very old external that has not
been maintained, and is buggy. [makesymbol] is probably a much better
option.

In cvsroot/externals/ext13/doc/ext13-help.pd there is some info one some
of the ext13 externals. fx ftos. true there is no dedicated help file per
class.

Summary: getdir crashes on windows (mingw)
Initial Comment:
I'm using a personally built version of Pd downloaded from CVS. I needed the patch folder, so I compiled the [getdir] object, which works fine on Linux, but on Windows it crashes on [bang].
I looked at it a bit, but I'm at a loss to figure it out: It calls canvas_getdir(), which in turn calls canvas_getenv(). However, any attempt to dereference the pointer returned by canvas_getenv() causes a crash.
I inserted the following code into getdir_bang():
s = (t_symbol**)canvas_getenv(last);
printf("[getdir] getenv: %#x\n", s);
printf("[getdir] getenv->: %#x\n", (*s));
printf("[getdir] getenv->s: %#x\n", (*s)->s_name);
It crashes on the second printf() statement, so the output is:
[getdir] getenv: 0x700a570
12 audio buffers
socket receive error: Unknown error (10054)
There may be something wrong with this pointer, but I cannot see what might be wrong. It is in the g_canvas struct returned originally in getdir_new() by canvas_getcurrent().
