Summary: libmpeg1 not available with Debian testing (Lenny)
Initial Comment:
Similar to bug no 2026159, libmpeg1 is not available with Debian Lenny (cf. http://packages.debian.org/search?keywords=libmpeg&searchon=names&suite=all…)all). I am not sure which other package renders libmpeg1 obsolete.

Message:
Ok, I purged all of the build servers of libmpeg1 and libmpeg2-4. I ran
deborphan a bunch of times to try to purge all old packages. Let's hope I
got everything. Please test!

I don't think there is time to fix this before the release, I think more
complicated things have to be fixed before bringing the Lenny build machine
fully up-to-date. Once the release is out, I'll run this to make sure all
of the old libs are removed, then it'll be more "pure" Lenny:
aptitude purge pd-extended
deborphan

Summary: missing helpfile for absattr
Initial Comment:
hi,
there is a binary for absattr, and the object gets created, but there is no helpfile. there is one in the svn repository that could be used.
marius.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
>Comment By: Hans-Christoph Steiner (eighthave)
Date: 2009-04-13 19:29
Message:
absattr is one of Thomas Grill's flext-based externals. No one has
integrated this into Pd-extended. There was some binaries included in some
Pd-extended packages, but I don't have time to maintain binaries anymore.
Anyone is welcome to get the flext stuff building as part of Pd-extended,
or just install Thomas' binaries and help patches in these locations:
http://puredata.info/docs/faq/how-do-i-install-externals-and-help-files-wit…
Reopen this bug if you want to take this on yourself.

Summary: change cursor in edit mode
Initial Comment:
this is a small but annoying little bug. when you switch to edit mode (selecting from the menu or by ctrl+e) the mouse cursor does not change immediately from arrow to hand, but only after you move the mouse. I think this should instantly change to give better visual feedback to the user.
this happens at least on 0.40-3 and 0.41-4 (I only had a look at mac os 10.5).

>Comment By: Hans-Christoph Steiner (eighthave)
Date: 2009-04-13 19:21
Message:
I think this is only a problem on Mac OS X. There is a hack in place that
tries to update the cursor, but IIRC, it doesn't seem to work on Mac OS X.

Summary: Keyboard shortcuts problems in OS X 10.5.4
Initial Comment:
Hello,
One problem that i noticed is about keyboard shortcuts.
When my selected language in keyboard is in Greek, then no shortcut working in pd, neither the keyboard-shortcut for changing my language. So i must go to menu bar with the mouse and select english language, or press with the mouse the Desktop and then use my selected chnange-language keyboard-shortcut(Cmd+space)
My laptop is a macbook 2Ghz Intel and pd version is " Pd version 0.40.3-extended "
Also the sudden crashes of pd remain as a problem but happen less frequently than previous versions.

>Comment By: Hans-Christoph Steiner (eighthave)
Date: 2009-04-13 19:19
Message:
Yeah, this is a tough one for me, I don't know anything about the Greek
keyboard. How do applications normally handle this? Right now, Pd does
not have great support for alphabets besides Latin1. We are working on
that in Pd-devel, so watch that development.

Summary: Problem with GOP on subpatch
Initial Comment:
Here step by step to the bug :
1) create new patch
2) create subpatch [pd compteur]
3) create a counter with the objects [metro] [f ] [+ 1] and two number boxes, one for the metro (time), the other for the output of [f ], and a toggle to start and stop [metro]
4) close the subpatch
5) right click on this subpatch and choose properties
6) check graph on parent
7) validate by OK
Then Pd crash.
It seems to crash on all platform.
++
Jack
The patch (before to check graph on parent) is joined.

Summary: renaming [pd 1] (i.e. a subpatch with a number argument)
Initial Comment:
hi,
I found a small bug with subpatches. if you create an object like [pd 123], which cannot be created because numbers are not allowed as subpatch names, then you can't just rename the object into [pd sub123], but have to delete it and recreate another pd object.
tested with 0.40, 0.41 and 0.42.
(in 0.40 the console says "error: text: no method for 'rename'")

Summary: gop toggle-related suicide (in four parts)
Initial Comment:
I
1. create new patch and make a subpatch
2. bring up the canvas properties for subpatch and check "graph on parent" and "hide object name and arguments", click ok
3. right click on the gop box on parent patch
4. uncheck only "graph on parent" and click ok
Bug #1: gop is still enabled
II
5. close subpatch window
6. right-click gop-box in parent, uncheck "hide object name and arguments" then "graph on parent," click ok
Bug #2: the text of the subpatch can no longer be selected or changed.
III
6. open the subpatch window
7. in the parent patch (in editmode) select the subpatch object box
8. click delete.
Bug#3: subpatch is deleted but the object box (and anything that was visible in the gop window) is still visible. Minimizing and maximizing the patch window erases this.
IV
9. Use undo to get back the subpatch.
10. Make sure the subpatch window is visible.
11. Enable "gop" and "hide object etc..." for subpatch, click ok.
12. Uncheck "hide object etc.", click ok.
13. Uncheck "graph on parent", click ok.
Bug#4: Pd crashes!
Fin
(Part IV will also crash Pd without going through steps I-III.)

trying to reproduce...
this is on 0.41-4 (self-compiled) on debian/linux
I and II work as described.
i cannot reproduce III due to another bug: in state after II, i cannot
open the the subpatch at all (neither via click (it still thinks it is
somehow gop) nor via rightclick->open)
i had troubles reproducing IV at first, but now it crashes every time and
i cannot find what i did differently...
