Hi,
After checking in some changes for cyclone, I hoped to see the results
in the last remaining daily build, the
Pd-0.44.0-extended-20150104-debian-wheezy-amd64.deb
<http://autobuild.puredata.info/auto-build/2015-01-04/Pd-0.44.0-extended-201…>.
But it appears it is no longer synced with the svn repository and builds
the same code every day.
To make sure the state of cyclone code is still ok, I checked out the
repositry and recompiled. Cyclone is ok, but some other libraries fail:

when [mknob] has to be "re-drawn" the cursor "resets" to the vertical position (12 o'clock).
This happen when minimizing the patch's window, or when [mknob] is put inside a graph-on-parent subpatch and you open or move this subpatch (or …
[View More]abstraction) : the knob cursor is reset to 12 o'clock.
I'm using pd 0.43.4-extended on windows vista home 32-bit

Reply by Fred Jan Kraan : 'Same behaviour with 0.44.0-extended-20141228 in Xubuntu Linux 64 bit. The help-patch states it is an adaptation of [hsl], but that works as expected within a sub-patch. So probably something went wrong adapting. You could make a bug report (http://sourceforge.net/p/pure-data/_list/tickets?source=navbar), improving the change it will get fixed sometime.'

** [bugs:#1188] cyclone/funbuff as object name breaks write/read file functionality**

The funbuff uses the complete object name as identifier in the content dump file, so whe you specify "cyclone/funbuff", it writes that and complains about an invalid file when you try to read it back.
An experimental fix …

The Highpass and Bandpass filter are not working as excepted filtering a [noise~] signal with [hip~ 20000]. The attached images illustrating the problem. I'm created a patch with four serial highpass filter using the same input frequency. Until 6000Hz everything seems fine, but then things do …

The Bandpass filter is also not working. Most notably in comparision with the [vcf~] filter.

The cyclone/objects bitand~, bitor~ and bitxor~ allow bitwise manipulation of the signal, both as float and converted to integer. Masking can be done providing a integer argument, a float/signal on the second inlet or a …

pd-0.45.4 has the right code for FFTW3 but has the wrong configure.ac
code to test for it.
fftw_one is a function in FFTW2, which plans a 1D FFT. The comparable
function in FFTW3 is fftw_plan_dft_1d
To get this to configure properly, you only need to change the name of
the library and the function it looks for. For the single precision
fftw3 library ( libfftw3f.so ) the function is named
sfftw_plan_dft_1d_ or sfftw_plan_dft_1d__
Before filing a bug, I wanted to get another set of eyes on …
[View More]it. Does
that function name look suspicious to anyone else? I've confirmed the
symbol is the same in the system installed 3.3.3 version of the
library in ubuntu 14.04 and the custom compiled 3.3.4 version that I'm
using.
To fix:
This section of code in configure.ac:
dnl fftw v2
AC_ARG_ENABLE([fftw],
[AS_HELP_STRING([--enable-fftw],
[use FFTW package])],
[fftw=$enableval])
if test x$fftw = xyes; then
AC_CHECK_LIB(fftw, fftw_one, [LIBS="$LIBS -lfftw"],
[AC_MSG_NOTICE([fftw package not found - using built-in FFT]); fftw=no])
fi
AM_CONDITIONAL(FFTW, test x$fftw = xyes)
becomes
dnl fftw v3
AC_ARG_ENABLE([fftw],
[AS_HELP_STRING([--enable-fftw],
[use FFTW package])],
[fftw=$enableval])
if test x$fftw = xyes; then
AC_CHECK_LIB(fftw3f, sfftw_plan_dft_1d_, [LIBS="$LIBS -lfftw3f"],
[AC_MSG_NOTICE([fftw package not found - using built-in FFT]); fftw=no])
fi
AM_CONDITIONAL(FFTW, test x$fftw = xyes)
Then, I run:
./autogen.sh
and
./configure --enable-jack --prefix=/home/chenry/pd-0.45.4
--enable-fftw CFLAGS=-I/home/chenry/linalg/include
LDFLAGS=-L/home/chenry/linalg/lib

This patch updates the configure.ac file to check the library for 32-bit floating point fftw3.
The function fftwf_execute occurs in pd and in fftw3 but not in fftw2. In the 64-bit version of fftw, the function occurs as "fftw_execute" instead.
So it's safe to check against, …
[View More]and precision specific. The autoconfigure test will write a short program declaring the function header:
char fftwf_execute();
and testing that the program links correctly with the fftw library

What about this...
When I am editing a huge patch like the Ninja Jamm patch, where everything is on the same level (i.e. as few sub-patches as possible) moving the mouse over the patch causes a CPU spike, regardless of whether I change, move or connect anything or not.
Could this be changed? I don't know all the guts of Pd, but if you could just move around the mouse pointer withouthaving to wait for 20 seconds or so before you can do anything, it would save a lot of time.
I think I heard once …
[View More]that any change to the patch means that Pd has to re-draw the entire graph. IMHO surely moving the mouse should not require this? I wait to be corrected! xEd
