Hi. First post here :)
I just spent a couple of hours figuring out why a c++ program I compiled on
windows (not my main OS) would not run. I am linking my program with
libstdc++ and compiling with the MinGW toolset.
Now, I have pd-extended installed on the same machine and when it
installed, it put it's own copy of libstdc++ in c:\WINDOWS\system32. The
way Windows loads libraries is: first looks on the directory where the exe
is, then it looks on the system folder and then it looks on the …
[View More]PATH.
The problem with my program was, then, that the MinGW linker did not like
the version of libstdc++ put in the system folder by pd-extended installer.
Uninstalling pd-extended "fixed" the issue.
So, I just want to throw this out there: Should the pd-extended installers
avoid putting libraries on the system folder to avoid this kind of
confusion?
My 2 cents.
Thanks!
:)

Pd 0.43.4-Extended on Ubuntu 14.04
1 - Use a bare [udpsend] in a patch
2 - Use [mrpeach/udpsend]
3 - Use [udpreceive <someport>]
4 - Use [mrpeach/udpreceive <someport>]
(replacing <someport> by an actual port number
Expected:

[View More]either all should work, or only 2 and 4 should work and neither 1 nor 3, depending on whataver is your policy about the namespacing nightmare in Pd Extended.
Observed:
all work except 3.
That is, udpsend works without the mrpeach/ prefix, but udpreceive requires it.
That's inconsistent.

This night, I wanted to open it, and then, Pure Data's console printed ": no such object". I've tried to open it with notepad++ to correct the programm …
[View More]manually with the source code, but he can't open it too. He just print "nul" in white on a black rectangle, for 30 000 characters.
The pd file is joined. Maybe someone can open it and correct it..?
Thank you for answering, i'm a little deserate

Does the lua install include lua-config / pkg-config files on Linux? If so,
you could call one of them:
http://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/lucid/man1/lua-config50.1.html
That's the best way since it doesnt involve hard coding or overrides except
for weird cases.

here's another makefile for pdlua, that is based on the most recent
template/Makefile.
it's supposed to be dropped into loaders/pdlua/
(rather than (loaders/pdlua/src/)
the main differences between the old Makefile (which could still
co-exist, as it lives in another directory) are:
- uses LUA_CFLAGS and LUA_LIBS to override *only* the compiler/linker
flags for the system-installed lua
- has all standard build targetes do something useful.
esp. "make install" and "make dist"
the only target …
[View More]that is not working is "dpkg-source" (which imho ,
shouldn't be working anyhow)
to make PdX switch to the new makefile, a few amendments are required
(which i can provide, once this Makefile has been accepted)

Hi, I noticed that in the makefile template, there seems to be a now
deprecated command in the Mac OS X section
-ftree-vectorizer-verbose=2
should now be changed to:
-fopt-info-vec-missed
Just thought I'd point this out.

I'm using PD for OSX 10.9 and windows 7... suddenly the number and symbol box is uneditable in edit mode, but still can be altered by scrolling in run mode...
