Summary: word wrap in pdwindow
Initial Comment:
This patch changes the Pd window to make line breaks at word boundaries. This is more legible than the default text widget behavior, which is to break at character boundaries.

Message:
I'm not quite sure what the purpose would be. I'm submi
tting this as an improvement over tk's default wrapping
, which splits atoms in the pdwindow. I suppose there's
the slight side effect of introducing more ambiguity b
etween word wrapping and the line breaks which represen
t the end of a message, but generally one scans for "pr
int" or whatever one specified as an argument to print,
followed by a colon. (Anyhow, the way to get rid of t
hat ambiguity altogether is to have two bgcolors that a
lternate each time something is posted to the pdwindow.

Message:
this would make a good GUI plugin, it would be simple, something like:
.pdwindow.text configure -wrap word

No argument here that ttk stuff looks better.
With Miller's Mac builds, they use the built-in Tcl/Tk. Mac OS X < 10.6
is on Tcl/Tk 8.4.7 and last I checked, Miller still includes 8.4 with his
Windows builds.

Message:
I will apply the fix for the missing console_font variable, but I would
like to know why some Vanilla versions still ship with 8.4. If there is a
good reason, I will remove "ttk::" from "ttk::scrollbar" (which, by the
way, is wider and looks way better in Gnome-- and probably KDE-- than the
dinky old Motif style scrollbars).

Comment By: Hans-Christoph Steiner (eighthave)
Date: 2011-08-15 13:54
Message:
There are a couple of problems with this patch that limit the
compatibility, so I can't responsibly apply it:
- adding 'ttk::' means its only compatible with Tcl/Tk >= 8.5, some
versions of Vanilla still ship with 8.4
- the Tcl variable console_font does not exist in Pd 0.43 or Pd-extended
0.43, only Pd-extended < 0.43
Also, it needs to be updated to apply to the latest version that's in SVN.
If those are fixed, I would apply it.

Summary: cant save new path entry
Initial Comment:
pd 0.43.1extended-20110812
debian squeeze 64/virtualbox host:windows7professional64
some externals are not in the path, eg pmpd. adding /usr/lib/pd-extended/extra/pmpd will work temporarily, but entry is gone on next startup.
adding to existing path separated by colon ':' behaves the same way.
this occurs both in debian and with the latest windows build.

How about turning off anonymous posting on the bug/patch/feature
trackers? The spam rate is increasing, and the anonymous bug reports
are either people who forgot to login, or otherwise quite low quality.

Summary: fix buggy editmode menu option appearance
Initial Comment:
Removes the "-selectcolor grey85" option from the "Edit Mode" checkbutton in the "Edit" menu. This was causing buggy behavior where there appears to be no checkmark until the user mouses over the "Edit Mode" option and gets a grey checkmark that is very close to the selectcolor, making it appear disabled or something.
I also removed the green background color when editmode = 1. It's unnecessary and distracting. (Though if its still wanted, I'd suggest "#c4dcdc" which is the header color for PDDP help patches, as well as the tipwindow from my tooltips patch.)
