Subversion is up and running.
check it out at
https://pure-data.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/pure-data/trunk/
(beware: if you checkout the entire tree (/svnroot/pure-data), you will
need a lot of space on your harddisk, as you will get multipled copies
of everything)
CVS is now locked for writing (but reading is still possible)
happy hacking!

If sourceforge's svn browser works similarly it is being very strange.
No svn tool I've ever used mixes the changes of one branch with the
trunk or any other copy of file(s) (and I've used many!). Trac (one
of the most integrated web interfaces for svn) and "svn log", for
example, both work in the way I describe.

so here is a (read-only) version of what the subversion repository will
look-like right after the migration on thursday:
http://svn.puredata.info/svnroot/pure-data/
once the migration has finished, i would like to reorganize the
/branches and /tags directories, so that they become navigable (or is it
navigatable?), by creating subdirectories "pd", "pd-extended",
"externals" and moving things around (e.g. "devel_0_35" should go into
"devel/0_35".
i guess i will also delete /trunk/CVSROOT and /trunk/htdocs

Summary: [makefilename] crasher bug and inconsistencies
Initial Comment:
(See attached patch for examples)
Inconsistency Bug 1:
If you send [symbol 32( to [makefilename %s], it is
totally ignored. It should treat 32 as "32" and print
it since its a symbol.
Inconsistency Bug 2:
%f patterns only produce "nan" for negative numbers and
"0.000000" for positive.
Crasher Bug:
If you send a float to [makefilename %s] or anything
with %s, Pd crashes.
Here's the crash trace from Mac OS X is also attached.

the crasher has been fixed in 0.41;
the %f inconsistency has been fixed too.
the "symbol 32" is not a problem of [makefilename], but rather with Pd in
general, and afaik, you have sumbitted a separate bug-report for this
special issue.
(please commit only one bug per tracker-item; this makes closing much
easier)
so i think this can be closed

Summary: tcpsend has an signed/unsigned bug
Initial Comment:
if a number heigher than 127 is send to tcpsend
it says number not in range 0-255, which is not
true for 128-255.
Reason is that vars c and d are not defined as unsigned.
I attach a patch to solve the problem

Summary: Add m4 macros used for configure script improvements
Initial Comment:
This patch will add a new file, acinclude.m4, which is a small library of m4 macros used to make adding certain things to the configure script much easier. It is a raw copy from the file's source (Asterisk). All of the macro prefixes are AST, but they have been left intact, to ease keeping this file up to date with the original one.
This is required before any of the other configure script related patches can be applied.

Nope ... all of our open source software is licensed under the GPLv2.
It's not likely to change any time soon.

Any chance of getting that file relicensed so that it can be used? It
would be very useful. Otherwise, we'll have to find that stuff from
another source, which would be sad...

Yes, this stuff is licensed under the GPLv2. So, it can not be added to
Pd.
In that case, I would like to remove it from Pd-extended, as well. I'm
not interested in maintaining this stuff if it can't go into mainline Pd
...

You're right. Asterisk is distributed under the GPL. However, we
actually don't have any license text in the headers of our configure script
related files. Let me go clarify this on the legal side of things and I
will post the result here ...

IIRC, Asterisk uses the GPL while Pd-vanilla uses a BSD-style license. Is
the copyright holder for that file from Asterisk alright with that file
being released under a BSD-style license? Otherwise, that file can't be
included in Pd-vanilla. (it could still be included in Pd-extended, but it
means maintaining it as a separate patch to Pd-vanilla, which is less than
appealling).

Hi,
what was the command to have an unlimited array size when loading a file?
I mean bigger than 4000...(whatever).
By the way, how about if arrays also save their display characteristics?
Ticks, numbers, etc.? I guess it shouldn't be hard to built in, right?
Thanks,
João Miguel Pais

Summary: Improve libm checks using configure script
Initial Comment:
This commit adds configure script checking for a number of functions in libm:
- sinf, cosf, atanf, atan2f, ...
Previously, in x_arithmetic.c, these functions were redefined for MSW / Apple. Now, they will only be redefined if the configure script does not find them.
The results of the checks for these functions are placed in the config.h header file. The config.h.in file was generated using autoheader.
(Note that this patch requires the inclusion of acinclude.m4, submitted in a different issue. Also, after including acinclude.m4, you must run aclocal before running autoconf to generate the configure script.)
