Summary: font/box size overhaul with properties panel clean-up
Initial Comment:
This patch includes everything from branch-v0-39-2-extended to make the fonts and boxes the same size on every platform.
The default font is changed to Monaco on Mac OSX (included with the OS) and Bitstream Vera Sans Mono on Windows and GNU/Linux (included with GNOME). The font is free as in speech and beer, so it can be distributed with any Pd package.
The iemgui properties panels were also changed to reflect the new fonts, plus they were cleaned up a bit to make them more readable.
It applies cleanly, builds and seems to work fine on 0.40.3 and 0.41.0-test04.

I have an Ubuntu box, and I saw this too. It only happens on GNU/Linux,
10 and 12 are different sizes on Windows and Mac OS X. I had it fixed for
the Pd-0.39.2-extended, but the font handling changed on 0.41, and I didn't
figure out how to adapt the new font handling. My guess is that the font
measurement code works different on GNU/Linux, so it's chosing a different
font.
The workaround is to do some kind of ifdef for GNU/Linux and force the
font size for the one that's sized wrong. That's how I did it on
Pd-0.39.2-extended.

This did something funny on my machine (fedora 6). "10" and "12"
show up with the same font size, and/but boxes sized differently
(in 12 point, not fitting the un-enlarged text). I'll bring the
machine to Montreal so we can look...

Summary: fix jack-related compile error on Ubuntu Gutsy (gcc-4.1.3)

I was compiling PureData from scratch today and after automake/configure/make, I received this error:

The solution was to rename the jack_error_callback function, so I added an underscore. Maybe there is a better solution. I am using Ubuntu Gutsy (development version of Ubuntu), with gcc-4.1.3:

If it's already been fixed that's fine, though I did check the project
fresh out of CVS before compiling it and getting this error. Running it, I
see that I have version 0.41.0-test04, so I'm not sure why I don't have the
latest if that's the case.

An example patch is always very helpful, especially if it triggers the
problem every time that it is run. Ideally the example patch would have
only enough objects to cause the problem, but nothing else.

Summary: fix makefilename segfault when wrong argument type received
Initial Comment:
Currently, Pd segfaults if the "makefilename" object is configured to receive a symbol ("%s") and it receives a float argument.
This patch uses strstr() to check if the sprintf string is going to accept a float, like so:
strstr(s->s_name, "%s")==0
The result is saved in the t_makefilename structure. It is recalculated on the "set" message.
When the wrong message type is received, a 0 or "" string is substituted, respectfully.
While it is unfortunate to do a string search like this, it is not very good to have Pd segfaulting, so I see no alternative.

It would take more work to do it right: check that
there's only one "%f" and no "%s" or vice versa,
and further check for "%%f", etc... I figure on
doing this someday if nobody else does.

I applied this patch to the Pd-0.39.2-extended branch and it failed to
compile:
x_connective.c: In function 'makefilename_new':
x_connective.c:1213: error: 'struct _makefilename' has no member named
'x_accept_float'
x_connective.c: In function 'makefilename_float':
x_connective.c:1219: error: 'struct _makefilename' has no member named
'x_accept_float'
x_connective.c: In function 'makefilename_symbol':
x_connective.c:1229: error: 'struct _makefilename' has no member named
'x_accept_float'
x_connective.c: In function 'makefilename_set':
x_connective.c:1239: error: 'struct _makefilename' has no member named
'x_accept_float'
My guess is that the patch needs to be a "diff -uw" format, which is much
better at dealing with different line numbers, etc.
Also, an example patch to demonstrate the bug is always useful.

Summary: patch: OS X sysexin/midiin support #3
Initial Comment:
Here is changed file 3 of 3 for enabling "sysexin" and "midiin". This is the most extensive patch of the 3, but is still small. Attached is a udiff.
Basically sys_poll_midi had only 1 byte of sysex as state at one time - now it keeps track of a whole (multibyte) sysex message. I was told to post here by the dev mailing list.
Please change the value of the file-local variables nd_sysex* as needed! I am not familiar yet with your naming conventions.
