I just thought of another thing that should be part of the Developers section: finding out who is doing what. There could be a listing of different aspects of pd that are being developed, for example: web site, Tcl GUI, Human Interface Devices (HIDs), synthesis, etc. Then under these sections would be who is working on it. So I would be listed under the web site and HIDs. Then if I wanted to see what others are doing with HIDs, I could go to the Developers section and check out the listing.
We could also post a listing calls for help here. Like "Web Developers needed to build new site" or "Windows Maintainer needed", etc. When one of these postings was new, it would be under "News', but the Developers section would have a listing of them.

I think, this might work better if we use Plone's meta informations. FOr example, I do have one GUI external in my written collection, but normally I don't do GUI. If I would just list my externals with certain keywords ("gui", "fm-synthesis",...) then we could automatically collect these according to keyword.

That would work well for finding externals, but I am interested in finding other developers. For example, my main development interest right now is HIDs and I want to find other people who share that interest to see if we could collaborate, I could go to the Developers section and check the listings. This could be done using personal meta information instead of meta information for the externals. Also this section would have a listing of maintainers for various parts of the development (Linux/Windows/MacOSX/etc, pd-externals/ pd-flext/pd-gem/etc.). Basically it would be a place to organize the development.
Also, I think that we have to be careful about doing everything the "Plone way". If we want as many people as possible to contribute to this site, we have to take into account that many people who write externals might not be willing to learn Plone at all. We have experienced such resistance to the CVS, enough though (in my opinion) using CVS makes things easier for the developer.

Thats ok but I think keywords can be missused, like I always just make an new keyword, so that the keywords amount can rise extremly.
I Would propose, just Categories a categories field and a OS list of buttons. (like all, windows, mac, linux), so I can find specific material. (like in the CollectorNG)
