Just wanted to shout out: I'm on this list now too, although I know NOTHING about plone!
luckily this list is pdweb and not pdplone...however, i hope that you are really deep into zope (or at least bash)
mgs.dft IOhannes ---
by now i know the difference between you two

FYI: I am not IOhannes, who goes by Hannes in meatspace. I am just Hans, or Hans-Christoph Steiner in the digital world. IOhannes lives in Graz, and I in Brooklyn, New York.
I cc'ed the pdweb list because I don't know the answer to your question. IOhannes probably does, and he reads that list.

IOhannes: is it necessary to know zope/bash in order to rearange plone? I don't think we talk about groundshaking changes. More about rearanging the modules on top of plone.

There is also a dormant wiki page for the website, if you are looking for a place to take notes.

this is a mere echo mail: i want to check how alive this list is.
a thread in the pd-list maillist is talking about the pr &
marketing
of pure data to the public. the very hot topics so far are a the puredata website and the
pros &
contras of maillist and forum.
a redesign of the webpage would do a very good job in making pd interesting for other people. right now it's to technical and a maze, at least in my humble
opinion.
and i still want to state that a good fanbase is the best way to develop a product. more users = more interest = more programers = better stuff for everyone.
just have a look at processing.org. the program itself is not that overwhelming. is it an easier access to java programing with a graphical aproach. but what they did out of it is amazing. a huge fanbase with so many good libaries to take on.
are there people willing to do a plone-skin? (look at plone.net
to see
what is possible) because changing from plone to something else
is not
an option i think. to much work. to much lose.

If nature has made any one thing less susceptible than all others of exclusive property, it is the action of the thinking power called an idea, which an individual may exclusively possess as long as he keeps it to himself; but the moment it is divulged, it forces itself into the possession of everyone, and the receiver cannot dispossess himself of it. - Thomas Jefferson
