Dear List,
I am considering getting a degree in computer music (I studied economics and i'm not very satisfyed with my job right now). I just found the Master in Sound and Music Computing at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Spain. I don't know if it's good.
Does anybody have any other suggestion, preferably in Europe?
Cheers!
Pierre.
there is the IEM in Graz, "european center" of Pd. Also the ICEM in the Folkwang Hochschule, Essen, Germany. But they don't use Pd there. Also the Seam in Weimar, but I think it's more oriented to soundart, afaik they don't even learn too much about programming. In Portugal, I've heard good things about the CITAR in the catholic university, Porto.

In Porto, Portugal (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porto) you can find the School of Arts of the Portuguese Catholic University (http://artes.ucp.pt/) and its Research Center CITAR (Research Center for Science and Technology in Art - http://artes.ucp.pt/citar).
The school offers a Sound and Image Degree, Master and PhD programmes (where Pd is of course one of the tools covered and used for project development in different areas).
It has some well equipped studios that include 3 Reactables, a Yamaha Diskclavier piano, a NotomotoN drumming robot (by Ajay Kapur - http://www.karmetik.com/robot/notomoton), a VICON motion capture lab, a 7.1 Dolby Surround ProTools HD + ICON studio, among other facilities (e.g. video mapping, 3D animation labs, TV studio and digital cinema cameras and assorted equipment).
Contact me off-list for more detailed info.
Cheers,
Gustavo

Dear Pierre,
IEM Graz offers a Master program in Composition/Computermusic, which requires you already have a BA in a related field of study.
There is also the famous "Sound Engineering" program there, which is a MSc in electrical engineering with a lot of audio technology and DSP in there, plus the chance to visit many computermusic related courses at IEM.
Contact me off-list for more in-depth information.
best, Peter
