But do any of you guys get 24 bits and at least 48kHz samplerate? Isn't there some limitations from only having standard usb class compliancy? (didn't check if any of those devices have specific drivers)
I'm looking to buy the M-Audio Fast Track Pro, but not getting full performance could sometimes be a bummer.
I haven't looked into how to check these things. From M-Audios homepage they say you only get 16 bits from standard usb compliancy.
"Class compliancy supports 16-bit/48kHz 2 x 4 operation on OS X 10.3.9 and higher. Driver installation required to access more I/O." http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/FastTrackPro.html

This is good to know.
Me, I've got an M-audio Fast Track Ultra (6 ch in and out, USB2) for $350 I think. There's a problem with occasional samples getting dropped in linux (works fine on Mac) which I'm hoping the ALSA folks will eventually fix, but meantime I made a special Pd mod to drop an equal number of samples on input and it's sort of working. I'd advise holding of on buying this one until the driver gets fixed.

Hi list,
I've got 11.6ms latency on a Lexicon Omega, with Pure Dyne and Jack. Audio input through a pitch shifter then output. It's good enough to play expressively, and for only £125.
I recommend it. Ed
