Hi again,
We run an online MA in Fine Art (Digital Art) at Camberwell College of Art, and are still looking for applicants for the 2012-2014 course. Students from anywhere in the world can apply, and it is especially suited to those for whom other commitments or geographical location make it hard to do the one-year, face-to-face variant of the course.
You can read about the course and view the blogs of finishing and current students at:
http://madigitalarts.wikispaces.com
and
http://www.netvibes.com/mablog
If you are interested in the course and want to know more, or wish to apply, then you can either write to me on this email or contact the course leader, Jonathan Kearney at jonathan(a)pool31.org
Best wishes,
Dr Ed Kelly
Gemnotes-0.2: Live music notation for Pure Data, now with dynamics!

Hi list,
I've been offered a post at Surrey University in Guildford, but I can't do it because I have tiny children that day. If anyone thinks they can do it/are interested/wants to take it on then get back to me and I can forward your details to Matthew Sansom at Surrey. Here is the email I was sent:
Hi Ed
Any more thoughts about Applied Music? Looking for someone with a mix of composition (writing for film, TV, adverts) and theoretical skills
(advertising/marketing/product theories & semiotics)?
It runs Friday's 1200-1400 (HE2 Applied 1) and 1500-1700 (HE3 Applied 2), in case you're interested/free. There's plenty of materials and
curriculum available for delivery.
regards
m

Well the Raspberry Pi is based on an ARM chip. Does anyone know how these chips compare when running RJDJ or libPD applications?
Perhaps this is a possibility, without too much modification of libPD or even RJDJ.
...but someone would need to write a host for the Raspberry Pi.
Even if it was just the PD core, it would enhance the educational scope of the Raspberry Pi - which is the whole point of this single-board computer (I learned my first programming on a Sinclair ZX Spectrum in the 1980s).
I never thought I would see the day when the BBC Microcomputer would rule the world in telecommunications, but ARM chips and the ARM RISC instruction set are running every smartphone on the planet right now (correct me if I'm wrong :) and some of these smartphones run RJDJ and libPD really well.
Dataflow music programming in schools. Maybe...

On the RaspberryPi website the question about the absence of audio-input
was answered recently:
There are no inbuilt Audio ADC’s so there would be a cost adder – everyone
was sat on my head to get costs down. They can be easily added via the GPIO.
So, still a possibility in an embedded openstomp-ish device.

Hi List,
I'm moving to Belgium and I have a Korg MS 20 in working condition that I
might want to sell sometime soon.
Anybody interested in the area?
Cheers,
Pierre.
(sorry for crossposting)
Dear All,
The Logos Foundation has formed a focal point for experimental
Belgian and international artists since 1968, showcasing contemporary
music and sound art.
Our workshops provide space for in-house artists and guests to build
innovative instruments and develop new technologies. Logos has its
own orchestra, Man & Machine, which consists of more than 50
interactive musical robots and is absolutely unique in the world.
Along with numerous other arts organisations, the Logos Foundation
found out on Friday evening that it will lose its government subsidy
from 2013 onwards. It is expected to continue with an annual
allowance of 0 euros, despite receiving two positive recommendations
from the official evaluation committee. In other words, although both
its artistic plan and its business plan were judged feasible and
worthwhile, it was not allocated a subsidy.
Help to save Logos! Convince the Minister of Culture to still
subsidise our Foundation! Please follow the link below and sign the
petition and please spread this petition amongst your friends, so the
Minister of Culture can see the national and international support
for the Logos Foundation. Thank you!

If there is some pd user in Slovenia who reads this, i need to ask a favour
of someone to pick up a CD there for me.
Can anyone help? Please mail me off list and i will talk to you about it.

Yes, but it would need to have a "many to one" interface, so that people with only one phone could have as many pedals as their phone could support. Perhaps wi-fi pedals?

Yo ed kelly!
Another dream might be to use a pre-existing prior purchase akin to something like this:
http://www.akaipro.com/synthstation25
Where the users nice expensive mobile devise is the processor.
Except on a pedal. Made of metal.
The mobile screen could also act as monitor or whatever...
Rjdj/libpd already puts an idea like this part way there.
