What's the programme for this particular meeting ?

no programme so far, most likely the usual show-and-tell of patches, answering questions...
You only need to make a list of patches in advance for the show-and-tell, that's all. Just have everybody write one or two sentences per patch that will be shown. It's not very hard to do. It doesn't prevent you from improvising things that are not on the schedule...

I have to agree with M here, posting an agenda or at least a fresh list of topics might encourage [more] people to come.

that is true, the thing is there is no boss in this group (I don't want to
say what the people are going to do). so, there is no agenda really. or
anyone has something that he wants to show?
I prefer the format where people discuss than the one that one lectures,
and the others listen (which is suggested by having a "fixed" program).
not to say that someone might think "theme xxxx? I know already enough
about it, won't go this time".
I also don't have the time to be preparing materials and making a pd class
out of this (for that people can ask me or Servando for a workshop).
that's why that for now I prefer the anarquic treatment, where everyone is
equal.

a way to organise that is in the wiki of the meetings,

that's a better place for that, as there is no list dialog on this group -
most of them are beginners, and to my knowledge aren't very active in the
list.

The pdmtl#36 meeting yesterday was an example of a meeting with a "fixed" programme, that turned out to be quite interactive and quite improvised.
I think that this is a barrier that can easily broken (just because the programme has been written down, doesn't mean it can't turn into something a bit different), and in the end, the real force turning the programme into a fixed programme, is the total number of people. Yesterday we were only seven, and it was a lot more flexible than when we were twenty-three, for example.

Suggestion: decide the agenda for the next meeting at the meetings themselves, and have people volunteer to present things. Maybe too North American or Northern European a style? ;-)
Nobody says you should volunteer yourself, but also I think people come when they have an idea of the program and whether it is interesting for them or not. No theme at all could in fact equal no interest at all. And if no one volunteers, perhaps "curate" something...

that sounds fine, but I really don't have the time for it. and being the
flux of people very inconstant (from 1 to 15, being the 2 organisers
almost only the fixed people), and almost all of them being beginners, to
feel in the state of perpetually giving pd classes and not receiving much
in return (very exaggerated description) doesn't motivate me very much.

One thing you can do is have people work thru tutorials on their own,
then just answer questions. I try to avoid going into workshop mode
at patching circles by actually trying to work on things and I find
that people start asking each other.

when I send a message as [wc -l $File.txt( I have no problem to have number of the line
but when I send this message [sed -n '$=' $File.txt( I have no message in out. With the Terminal I have no problem, I have the number of line, but in pd no result.
I have the same problem with awk [awk 'END {print NR}' $File.txt(
Do you have a solution to obtain the number in the out of [shell] ?????
thx

Hi,
I guess you're on osx since you mention 'Terminal'.
Try with escaping the quotes :
sed -n '$=' $File.txt
and eventually the dollar too :
sed -n '$=' $File.txt
On archlinux it works without escaping.
see you, Charlot

Those don't sound like actual OSX/Linux differences.
I don't think that there are _any_ quoting differences between OSX and Linux, especially ever since OSX switched to the BASH shell.

Pd-Berlin Google group: You can join the open group http://groups.google.com/group/pd_berlin, and make questions to the users there.
Doors are open from 20h-20h15. After that they'll be closed, and you will have to call someone from the Pd-meeting to get in. To get a telephone number to call or confirm assistance you can write to info_at_minitronics.net.
Please, don´t call to the staff of NK to open the doors. They let us use the space but we have to take care about having the meeting without producing any disturbance to them, and to clean the space after the meeting.
We would apreciate if you would send us a small mail to info_at_minitronics.net with your name, Pd experience and interests, so that we know how many people might be coming. Or put your name in the pd-berlin wiki page.
We would like to thank the support and willingness of NK in the organization of these events.
