If its a Pd.app, then its self-contained. All of the files are inside. You can keep old versions around to without any problem. I currently have 5 different versions in my /Applications. You can run them all separately too.
So you could have Burt or Hans. If you try both, please give feedback on what I could improve.
i have tried both, Burt's pd.app doest load the Gem objects, they fail with the tipical messages:
gemwin ... couldn't create gemhead ... couldn't create rotate ... couldn't create color ... couldn't create rectangle 2 1 ... couldn't create error: inlet: expected '' but got 'reset' ... you might be able to track this down from the Find menu. error: inlet: expected '' but got 'create' error: inlet: expected '' but got 'create'
this is version Pd-0.38-3 on os 10.3.6...
many other objects, considerd as externals load withouth problems
i will try hans pd.app version 0.38-2 since the one i have been using was version 0 and that gave no problems, even though it had less documentation for the objects
anyways thanks to both for packing all this up! /a
i guess you want to rad about pdsettings. to load gem try "-lib Gem"

and if anyone else is still running os x 10.2.8, i have found that hans's 0.38-2 runs nicely but the latest doesn't run on 10.2.8 neither does burt's.
