Hey all,
In 2020 is there a nice beginner library for Pd of high level GUI objects? I'm thinking something where somebody can come in new to Pd and string together a couple of sound generators with some effects units and run them into a user friendly mixer and make a nice noise without having to build anything from scratch.
Cheers,
Chris.
Here's a rather small library I use for teaching acoustics:
http://msp.ucsd.edu/syllabi/170.18f/lib/index.htm
The aim is to get people doing acoustics experiments without having to learn Pd. Doesn't make much 'music' but might be a good starting point.
cheers Miller

I am currently working on a type of framework that I have developed during the years. a video here: (although its an old version) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72sUFFNXJW8&feature=youtu.be let me know if interested. The user developes the modules (the ones that light up green in the video) also maybe "context" that is really high level GUI and I tink is aimed to be a non linear sequencer https://forum.pdpatchrepo.info/topic/10687/context-sequencer-v3-0-1 https://forum.pdpatchrepo.info/topic/10687/context-sequencer-v3-0-1 and this one https://www.automatonism.com/the-software

This is what I think you were describing perfectly. Super quick to just patch a few higher level pd blocks together into a mixer and go.

Another wonderful one I stumbled upon today was... http://malinette.info/en/#downloads
The ABS download has some nice externals with easy GUI patching. Looks like a cool software / hardware interface externals also.

The ELSE library has a GUI section with envelope generator, mixer, gain adjuster, audio output, musical keyboard, drum sequencer, oscilloscope, vu meters, 2 dimensional sliders, range slider, mouse pad interaction and other GUI stuff. It is also a quite huge library with ready made filters and audio processors (flanger~, chorus~, reverbs, etc, etc).
ceammc is kinda similar to else and it's also nice

oh, forgot this, ELSE has also guis for 2 channel mixer and also 4 channel mixer :) combine these if you want more channels
apart from the ones already mentioned (rj-lib, automatonism, etc.), i think "orac" has not been mentioned yet. aimed mainly at the "organelle", but also kept very simple, like a kind of virtual pedal-board for pd-patches. https://github.com/TheTechnobear/Orac
and my own attempts in that direction: vvd at http://www.martin-brinkmann.de/pd-patches.html. no (apparent) userfriendly mixer though...
bis denn! martin
