One question, you can play mov files in pd but, why is not possible do it whit avi files? Nobody want's to implement this feature?. It's stupid my question? so, can you explain me?

I think the libquicktime decoder supports both .mov and .avi; at least that's what i read on their mailing-list.
Make sure the object you are trying to decode with is using libquicktime, and make sure you have a recent enough version of libquicktime, and then if you have specific problems about their decoder, you could subscribe to the libquicktime-devel mailing-list and ask your question there (unless you suspect it really has to do with Pd).

wow! how do you play back mov-files with pd ?

this feature has been implemented for years, but not with plain pd but with externals libraries that do video-processing, namely Gem, pdp, GridFlow and FrameStein. you are most likely using one of these libraries for playing back your mov-file too.
my question? so, can you explain me?
please give us a bit more information. for example, what OS are you using ? what library (or at least: which objects) are you using to play back mov-files ? library-version ? what does the console say when you open an AVI-file.
