i just unpack pd somewhere under my homedir, then start like $ ./pd/bin/pd most of times i get weird problems when i tried to 'install' pd somewhere (except for the debian packages, but theyre too old)
| Can anyone help me with my first faltering pd steps? Having downloaded and |de-tarred the irix version into /usr/local, and put the appropriate alias in the |.cshrc (root & mine), I get "Permission denied" in all circumstances. Chmoding all |permissions of all files to the whole world doesn't help, whoever it thinks I am (I |haven't tried being netochka). Any suggestions?
Here's a guess: you migth have tried "/usr/local/pd" instead of "/usr/local/pd/bin/pd" . Alternatively, the file /usr/local/ppd/bin/pd might not be executable (rwxr-xr-x)
