Hi!
I'm revising an old tutorial I wrote sometime ago to conform with Pd 0.49 on how to load and install externals. Hopefully the information in here gets somehow merged into the documentation of Pd itself for the new release or something (that's my goal) - this is a work in progress, any feedback is highly welcome!
See:

Anyway, tell me what you think... if I'm making mistakes, etc...
And if we're to include this information in the Pd documentation, what do you think it's the best way to edit this information here and do it?
Thanks

Thanks Alexandre, I found your ressource a good document to point out to students and beginners in the past. It is great you are updating it. Please host it on puredata.info which should be the first place to look for such documentation.

Thanks. I had it up there before, but removed as it became obsolete fast with new developments. And I'm still polishing it before I'd do something like that again.
Maybe I should have shared a google docs file that people can edit too and see my newer edits... :/

I can make a PR transferring what you already have in the Pdf to html. Then we can further edit it.
I think I can have the PR tomorrow.
:)
Sounds good, and it's nice now that we can open htm file in pd vanilla from a patch, meaning we could include a link to this htm documentation maybe in the help file of [declare]?
And we can keep editing the html in the PR, not in google docs then, haha

IMHO Pd is free (as in speech) and so should be its documentation. Google contradicts this. puredata.info allows wiki pages to be edited by others, perhaps this is a function you are looking forward to be using?

I'm not suggesting this documentation should reside in google docs. Like I said, I'm still polishing it before uploading to puredata.info - this is just so people can help me change and edit it if they don't agree with something...
woa, that was fast :) https://github.com/pure-data/pure-data/pull/704
