hi there. I'm sure you know about this. It's very annoying though. When I create a new pd document on my raspberry pi, the header is out of reach in the out of bounds reagion of my screen, and I can't get it and drag/resize it the way I want.
What's the workaround?
ps. while we're on the subject, is there an apt-get command for pd vanilla? I did apt-get install puredata and got extended 0.43 :P on that note, how do I uninstall extended too before installing vanilla?
thanks
Hey Alexandre,
'sudo apt-get remove --purge pd-extended' THis will remove all associated libs to start fresh
In raspbian 'puredata' is vanilla and you can then add many libs to this, run: 'sudo apt-cache search pd-'
to bring up the manymany libs IOhannes has added to the debian repos.

Depending on your DE/WM, Alt+click and drag anywhere on the window will let you drag it back into view.
Pd-list@lists.iem.at mailing list UNSUBSCRIBE and account-management -> http://lists.puredata.info/listinfo/pd-list

or - if you are using the cmdline - simply start pd as "puredata" (rather than "pd")

hi, if I run sudo apt-get install puredata, it installs 0.43 and with extra packages, why isn't it 0.45 and pure vanilla? Is the current vanilla only available at Miller's website?
cheers

assuming that "extra" packages refer to expr/bonk~/sigmund~/..., these *are* part of Pd-vanilla.
why isn't it 0.45 and pure vanilla?
because you are using an outdated distribution?
afaik, raspbian is based on Debian/wheezy. now Debian/wheezy has been released 2013-05¹. Debian releases follow an extended "freeze" period, in which only bugfixes are accepted in the to-be release (and no new or updated software can enter the distro). this boils down to Debian/wheezy only containing Pd-vanilla 0.43.
Is the current vanilla only available at Miller's website?
no. Debian/jessie (the upcoming release of Debian) *currently* contains Pd-vanilla 0.45-5 (and if any other Pd-releases are done until the next Debian-freeze, they will be included).
i have recently sent some instructions on how to (try to) build uptodate Debian packages for an outdated Debian release on this list (directed at max). you could try to follow these instructions.

¹ the have been numerous bugfix releases of Debian/wheezy since the original release, the latest on 2014-04-26; however ,bugfix releases are just that: they fix bugs. new releases of software packages are not included.
