Howdy everybody,
Sorry if I make any etiquette errors. I read the guide but htis is my first time writing.
I was just wondering if anyone else had a problem with using PD and Norton Antivirus. Whenever I try to use the two together, Norton tells me that PD is a Trojan horse (called Blade runner) that is attacking my computer. I can't understand why Norton would tihnk that. Is there any reason why PD would be communicating with an external server that would cause Norton to think that?

hi.
pd is a 2-part application: a (dsp-)kernel, which does all the calculations (not just dsp), and the gui-part, which displays the objects and the like (this is the part you are interacting with) these 2 parts are talking via a network connection to each other (this is by design, so the gui can run on a different computer, or not at all)
this network communivation is the reason why "personal" firewalls are often tricked into thinking that it is an illegal piece of software. however, usually you can configure your firewall to allow certain applications to use certain connections.
