Hi dmotd, chris, list,
Yup - I'll be there as will some other PD users and plenty of other patchers.
There are coordinators for the patching and a/v sessions who are putting together the program in those areas.
For a start, these lists should help: patcher session organisation/discussion list: http://lists.cofa.unsw.edu.au/mailman/listinfo/ef-patchers
av session organisation organisation/discussion list: http://lists.cofa.unsw.edu.au/mailman/listinfo/ef-av

Hi ,
I'm trying to get Pd to work with Jack. If I start Jack jackstart -R -d alsa -d hw -r 44100 before starting Pd I get this message:
ALSA lib pcm_hw.c:976:(snd_pcm_hw_open) open /dev/snd/pcmC0D0c failed: Device or resource busy snd_pcm_open (input): Device or resource busy ALSA lib pcm_hw.c:976:(snd_pcm_hw_open) open /dev/snd/pcmC0D0p failed: Device or resource busy snd_pcm_open (output): Device or resource busy Using ALSA interface audio I/O stuck... closing audio
Normally without staring Jack I have no problem with the audio. Any thoughts what I may be doing wrong? Thanks! Jim
hi! that looks like pd still starts in alsa mode. did you compile pd with jack support and start with -jack? regards d13b

Be sure to use a version of pd that has jack support. This is currently possible with the CVS version devel_0_36, devel_0_37, the PlanetCCRMA version and the Debian sid version.

hello list
does somebosy know how I can produce SID alike sounds in PD? Does it work with a wavetable? Maybe there is a external?
I know I should first try it by myself, but maybe somebody else has done that before (of course i think..)
thank you all in advance.

Hello Shintaro,
SM> does somebosy know how I can produce SID alike sounds in PD?
as far as i know (not a lot i'm affraid) SID is a subtractive synth based on triangle, square, saw and noise 8-bits signals.
there are also low-pass, high-pass, band-pass filters. now the hard part is that weird resonance filter that make this typical SID sound.
i don't think that emulating such a chip is hard but the way to handle the "instruments", the chip is not the most important part as the "power" of its sound has been mainly due to the trackers that were controlling it (ADSR, LFO, "oldskool effects" ...)

not me, but if you're willing to give it a try, let me know cause i would be interested in making a such "l33t" patch ;)
