Not as far as I know. There's only digest or single mails. As people tend to do strange things to subjects (like inserting "[SPAM]" inserts etc.) sorting emails by thread or subject is a hard task anyways. I would recommend that you use an email client that can display mailboxes in various ways, like sorted by subject, thread, date, size or whatever. Every decent mail client should be able to do that, clients that cannot, aren't decent IMO.
Also there are tools to split mailboxes or mails in various ways. "formail" is a popular tool for that on Linux'ish systems.

Seeing that Jaime is using gmail: use the regular email list (separate mails) and you will find that gmail automatically sorts these by subject threads. "I can't live without it!"
