hi all,
i tried out the munger~ object, but it takes too much of cpu power, so i doubt, that it's working correctly one munger~ object needs about 200 percent of my cpu to run ... on a 2.5 GHz machine which seems to be a bit too high...
thnx...

Shouldn't do that. I could think of two reasons: one would be, that munger is producing denormals on your CPU, which could be possible, because munger~ is a delay and thus could generate very small values.
But from my own experiments with munger I found, that it is very easy to give munger settings, that let it produce an insane amount of grains, that are really demanding on any CPU. I don't remember which settings produce this, but try inputting values < 1.

hello dear list
I searched the archive, but didnt succed. So I ask again a simple question..
I wanna combine the bonk~ object with a toggle, because I want to start and finish something with a live-audio input (percussion sound). The best way I could think of was just to connect bonk~ with a bang and then with a toggle. But it doesnt work..
Please help..
thank you cheers miyazaki_s from basle www.netzknoten.net/miyazaki_s
you're patch works for me... i notice that taping on my laptop often sends two click sounds, so the toggle instantly turns on then off again... otherwise, are you sure you have "computer audio" on?

it works. but not always.. maybe it has something to do with the properties "flash-time in ms" intrrpt and hold, but I have no idea what it should mean..

that shouldn't happen cause I narrowed the sensualitiy with max and min..

that just effects the visual flash speed, it doest change the actual behavior at the outlet... put a [print] after the bang and you should see that you are getting two bangs in rapid succession when you think its not working, and hence the toggles turns on, then off almost immediately.

Hi Tim,
I just tried it, and got the same thing when I made one on the canvas. Using the one in the help file and sending it some input and messages fixed it, and it ran at 4-18%. But invoking it with no arguments, messages or inputs seems to cause trouble. Anybody's guess as to why. Try opening the one in the help file and sending it some messages to figure out which one is critical. I think my CPU useage went down after sending it a "position" variable....
That said, this object is really weird, and doesn't really seem to behave very well in the 10 or so minutes I just spent examining it. I have made a few granulated delay lines myself before, but this one doesn't seem to work as well as I would expect. Maybe better to DIY one?
best, D.
