I know that discussions about open source funding tend to divide people an start brawls, but since the recent t-shirt thread (search "Pd Shirts" on the list i've you missed it) started around the idea of funding documentation for Pd, i was wondering what the state of things is right now for Pd developers: any (centralized or decentralized) efforts to fund Pd-related development out there?
There are a bunch of crowd-funding internet-based platforms flourishing at the moment that may or may not be appropriate for Pd (??) but at least it looks like a common thing nowadays (maybe just a trend, who knows?), so i thought i'd ask because this is an issue that might be of interest to both developers and users for a number of reasons.
I think it would be great to try to get some Pd development funded by
kickstarter or something like that. From what I've seen, people
usually advertise projects that they themselves plan on doing, but I
suppose you could raise funds to pay someone else to do the work.
I think its worth just trying something.

Terrorism is not an enemy. It cannot be defeated. It's a tactic.
It's about as sensible to say we declare war on night attacks and
expect we're going to win that war. We're not going to win the war on
terrorism. - retired U.S. Army general, William Odom
