hi
i did some research on hi-md-recorders. i found the manual of the sony
MZ-NH1
http://www.minidisc.org/manuals/sony/Sony_MZ-NH1_operation_manual.pdf
- you can record line/optical/mic(with plugin-power for sony electret
mics)
- on HiMD-disks (1GB) you can choose the recording quallitity:
++++++ linear PCM (very nice feature)
- ATRAC3plus (256kbps)
- ATRAC3plus (64kbps)
- bidirectional usb-connection
- uploading/downloading only with prorpietary software (sonicstage)
- files on computer are stored in the openMG-format .omg or .oma
- to create wavs you have to convert the files first with the 'wav
conversion tool' from sony
- digitally recorded data cannot be uploaded to the computer (scms)
- your old mds cannot be uploaded
- you can use the recorder as an usb storage device
i proclaim:
one company should do only one thing at the time: hardware or software
and things would be nice......... :)
