Dear list,
after 3 1/2 years (!) I am very happy to announce that a new pre-release for AOO 2.0 is now available on Deken!
AOO ("audio over OSC") is a low-latency peer-to-peer audio streaming and messaging library. It works both in local networks and the public internet! See https://git.iem.at/cm/aoo#aoo-audio-over-osc-v20-test3 for a more exhaustive feature list.
For bug reports and feature requests, please use the issue tracker: https://git.iem.at/cm/aoo/-/issues
Officially, this is still a pre-release, but the underlying OSC protocol and the Pd objects can be considered stable. (I still need to tweak the C/C++ API). At this point I want to avoid any breaking changes unless they are really justified.
Have fun!
Christof
I also want to point out that the IEM is running a public AOO server: "vrr.iem.at 7078"
I will shut down the old AOO server ("vrr.iem.at 7077") in the near future.

This looks fantastic, Christof. My group has been using Ross Bencina’s venerable “OSCGroups” for nearly twenty years, but this is just another level.

Thanks!
"OSCGroups" has actually been an inspiration for some of AOO's features, in particular the concept of groups and users (although my implementation is very different).

That's great news! Thanks for all the work, time and effort spent for this excellent piece of software. Our group has been using AoO extensively for testing and experimenting, but also for concerts and other telematic performances and it has served us really well so far.
We're looking forward to the final 2.0 release!
Roman
Thanks for your kind words, Roman! Your input and feedback has been extremely valuable!
