Note: That's the startup dialog, not the path dialog. Does the path dialog look ok?
Looks like I need to use automatic sizing instead of fixed sizing. This is not a big deal as I already updated the audio and midi dialogs to do this as the platform and TK version differences mean fixed sizing is longer a good idea.

Hi list, and thanks to IOhannes for neatly packing up pd 0.48 for Debian testing. On my system the path preference dialog features a largely hidden line with a checkbox that can't be made visible by enlarging the window (see attached screenshot). Is this the case on someone else's system too?

Great, thanks Dan!

Yep. Despite the detail that I don't understand why users should have to bother about a possible semantic difference between "Disabled" and "Cleared" in the two path settings.

The PD Documents Directory is a built-in plugin that has extra functionality which can be disabled when it's value is "DISABLED". This could probably better be a check button, but I didn't want to take more vertical space.
The Externals Directory is similarly used by a built-in plugin, deken. Clearing this to an empty string says "let deken use it's default behavior".
This current set up is an interim location tight now. A longer term plan is a more integrated Preferences panel with tabs which could have better contextual grouping.
