hi list
i have a simple question: how can i pick colors (R/G/B) of a videostream at different locations (x/y) at the same time? preferably without displaying the videostream because of performance issues.
at the moment i am working with pdp_ctrack which does this job, but i need to pick aprox. 12 points on four independent videostreams. this would result in 48 xv's which is far to much for my pc and i think there should be a more elegant way.
is there any object in the pd/linux-world which could do this task? gridflow?
i would really apreciate any hint, tip, help... thx metafor
hola,
pdp_ctrack can work in silent mode, ( yuo don't need no xv for all your videos ), the message to command the color picking are :
setcur 0.123 0.234 : sets the cursor on that position ( percentages expressed here ) pick : picks the color and outputs its RGB components
see help file, saludos, sevy

As Yves said, you don't need to display each videostream for pdp_ctrack, and then I don't think any pdp object requires the videostream to be displayed.

[#store] can pick any number of points in a picture and make a new picture with it, among many other possibilities. I often use it to produce a 240*320 videostream from points of a 240*320 videostream, in RGB, at 20 fps or more.

hi mathieu
so i will give griflow a try. fortunately i should have still enough time to see which option is better suited for my needs.
thanks for your help.
