hi, I am working on dynamically created patches and just figured out (by accident) a nice thing. it seems the $0 in pd-$0subpatch gets substituted correctly by $0 even if it is not at the beginning of a symbol. that means you can have a subpatch [pd $0subpatch] and use [send pd-$0subpatch] to talk to it. makes life a little easier. marius.
hi
i assume you switched from 0.39 to 0.40. this is one of a few cool improvements in 0.40. you can now have dollarsigns at arbitrary positions in message boxes and pd will parse them. also you can have an arbitrary number (now also more than one) of dollarsigns in a symbol element in a message:
[list ei a e i( | [m$1n n$2m$3 $4 roman(
gives you:
'mein name ist roman'

this was possible already in versions <=0.39, but you had to use [makefilename] and [; sendsymbol bla( send construction.

Are you sure? From what I see you would get
'mein name i roman'
