how does one get a vu meter to work with an audio signal. i have looked at the help file for the vu object but it doesnt seem to demonstrate how i can convert an audio signal to the corresponding decibels. i am sure its just an object that i have over looked but i can seem to find it .
thanks .

["audio"~] ---> [env~] ---> [- 96] ---> [vu]
I'm not sure, if one has to substract "96", and I can't check right now, maybe it was "102"?? ciao,
use the corresponding prvu~ or gainvu~ objects from iemlib
