sounds like a permission or space problem? your HD is not full I assume? are you logged in as a "root equivalent" user? I've always installed my PD stuff in my home directory... Where are you compiling yours?

Are the temporary build directories ../obj and ../bin present in your directory tree next to pd/src? Sometimes CVS puts it there for you, sometimes not.
