Where does PD version 0.38 store the startup and flags settings when they are set in the new startup window in Windows XP and Max OS X?
Tom
in OSX: ~/Library/Preferences/org.puredata.pd.plist
no idea in windows...

hi list,
i can't get rid of the objects in the binaries to load list as shown here. i can delete them, but the next time they are there again. in the .pdrc there are only one time listed in the preference dialoge there are listed two times. the ones listed first can't be loaded (obviously because of the box symbol there..)
whatever not a big problem i just wanted to mention it.

.pdrc and your plist are probably conflicting. Try moving your .pdrc out of the way and see what happens.

hi, i deleted both. the .pdrc and the preference file, but it still says at startup:
zexy : can't load library pmpd : can't load library xsample : can't load library cyclone : can't load library Gem : can't load library OSC : can't load library
kinda weired, no? (even weireder is that if there is a .pdrc with those libraries the'll load seemlessly after the error messages)

you might want to check that the libraries are still actually there. if you 'make clean' and your source is in the (logical?) location of /usr/local/lib/pd/src, it will nuke all the externals youve ever built..your exact error above happend to me yesterday ..fun fun...
when in doubt load the plist in an editor (or the "property editor" that comes with the developer utilities) and fix it from there.
There were some bugs with pd 38 and the prefs stuff on OSX, I stopped using the GUI at some point...
