Don't connect a [bng] to a metro. instead use a [tgl], which can also turn it off on the second click. this is because [tgl] sends 1 when it's turned on and 0 when it's turned off. several objects work with that 1,0 convention: e.g. [spigot] and a two-outlet [demux].

Or: 0
or even better:
"Right-Click on metro" -> "Help"
I generally use a toggle in front of a metro.
[tgl] | [metro 100]
