Hi all,

Sorry for the "advertisement" post, but I thought this would be of interest to some of you.

I'm a happy pure data user, but I also work as a developer at n-Track Software, a small audio software house based in Rome. Our main product is n-Track Studio, a cross-platform DAW - available on Mac, Windows, iOS and Android - and targeted to hobbyists, semi-professional musicians, researchers and students.

Many of us at n-Track shared a particular interest (enthusiasm!) in Pure Data, so we worked to add support for PD patches right in n-Track Studio (through LibPd). In this way audio effects or generators built with PD can now be easily added to an audio track or controlled using our MIDI pianoroll and step-sequencer, as you would do with a VST plugin.

We developed a way to expose the patch's controls in a custom gui, trying to make this process as seamless as possible. At the moment we only support patches built using PD vanilla, and a limited subset of gui objects: sliders, canvases, radio buttons, buttons and toggles.

We are still working to improve the integration, and right now we have a beta version of n-Track Studio that you can download an try, at: http://it.ntrack.com/download.php

A guide is in the making to help users create compatible pd patches for n-Track Studio. In the meanwhile, this temporary FAQ may be of help:

It would be great if any of you decided to give this a try and let us know what you think about it. Any feedback (questions, comments, bug reports, new ideas, criticism) would be greatly appreciated!

I hope you enjoy this as much as we did developing it, and thank you for reading through this.
