ola,
mm, now that you added that path, i think you should recompile ffmpeg AND pidip and then it should load...
but, i still wonder why people use ffmpeg, it's been made optional and is kinda abandonned here.... ( using theora )

you were right: i needed to add that path to my ld.so.conf. Thanx :) but now pd claims: usr/lib/pd/externs/pidip.pd_linux: undefined symbol: mp3lame_encoder why that? shouldnt all that mp3lame juice be squeezed, when ffmpeg was compiled? many thanx in advance daniel .

ola,
maybe you only need a "ldconfig -v" or /usr/local/lib is not in your libraries' search path ?

Cant figure out why pidip doesnt load. I did exactly what INSTALL says and got no errors while compiling (checked if mp3lame is enabled). pd says: usr/lib/pd/externs/pidip.pd_linux: libmp3lame.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory. Checked: its here /usr/local/lib/libmp3lame.so.0 I`ve got: pidip-0.12.19 pd-0.38.4 ffmpeg-cvs-2005-02-08 on demudi-1.2.1
many thanx in advance daniel
