hello,
if you get a precompiled pd version, you just have to copy content of pd/bin/* to /usr/local/bin/ and pd/tcl to /usr/local/tcl.
or just start pd in a terminal using it's full path : /home/pi/pd/bin/pd
cheers

Thank you Antoine for the suggestion:
When I tried:
cd pd-046.-6/src
sudo make -f makefile.gnu
terminal returned:
make: ***No rule to make target '/usr/include/alsa/asoundlib.h', needed by 's_audio_alsa.o'. Stop.
best,
Rick
