put the ttf file in a place pd will look at it : in the search patch, or directly in the patch folder.
but since the error is that the file /home/alexandros/Dropbox/pd_patches/H1N1/video/vera.ttf can not be found,
putting vera.ttf in /home/alexandros/Dropbox/pd_patches/H1N1/video/ will certainly work!

compile Gem with font support?
you need the ftgl-dev package installed when running configure (and
afterwards).
