as far as compiling I am referring to Pd version 0.46-0 source (2 Megabytes).
trying to compile it on a fresh install of ubuntustudio needed some packages, not sure which ones at this point
I installed codeblocks and ajunta so they may have installed my missing compiler tools.
I think automake or outogen or something was missing then since the itermediate output required interpreting something about a dll I figure the cross tools may also be needed not sure was just getting ready to try again.
Anyways iemlib is installed now from synaptic it was one of the only missing libraries , very strange, pd(the one that comes with ubuntustudio) does not load up the iem filters so maybe I have to go in and add the path manually or something.
Thanks

$ aptitude install pd-iemlib

(or use synaptics or whatever)

all of these packages are in Debian (and thus should be in ubuntu as well)

the puredata package in Debian comes with jack support.
