So theoretically it should ... but I also have a usb-midi converter, keyboard, and 2 gamepads on the same bus. In my case at least, it seems 24 bit at full duplex is too much for the bus controller on my machine, while 16 bit full duplex is fine. At least thats my experience in practice with the UA-25, not the UA-25 EX or whatever the new model is called. I use it with Advanced Mode off.

Anyway, Ed I'd say check out the FA-66, see if you can borrow one to double check that the linux firewire drivers are working, whatever the name for the latest firewire audio drivers are.
