are you in os x or linux?
If in os x you probably need to follow additional steps to be able to run it in the command line: http://www.lilypond.org/macos-x.html

This looks great! I'm trying to open a score though and the default .pdf application won't open. If I do it via Lilypond, everything works well, but following the help patch, a .ly file is created in /Library/Pd/notes/ but it won't open, even though I'm getting all the comments in Pd' console.
Any idea why?

Hi all,

I have been working on a new external for music notation that is probably ready for testing. I have been using this external for my own work and thought other people might benefit from it too.

The external fits information generated on a patch into traditional music notation, and encodes it into lilypond syntax.

To get the code, osx and linux binaries, go to: http://nyu-waverlylabs.org/notes/

Let me know if you find any bugs!

best,

J
