maybe there is a possibility to use shaders to combine the images with something like a bumpmap. some game engines like quake3 use similar techniques (it has to do with normals). but I have absolutely no idea how that is done. marius.

I have seen this done perfectly once for a hemispherical projection system designed for DoD weapons simulations. The guys who made the system are/were some of the top optics engineers in the world, so they made it look easy.
