hi
i think i'll do a workaround with reading files into [textfile] and then passing the content to [msgfile]. the patch that is using [msgfile] is intended to be shared. such a workaround will not force any osx-user to make changes in the startup or install/compile another zexy.
thanks for your help anyway.

thanks for your answer. i couldn't get it to work. i must say, that i'm not an osx user myself and the problem is probably that i'm not too experienced with it. i have installed h.c. steiners newest pd.app (0.38.4). since i couldn't find the .pdrc-file and have no idea where to put it, i just added in: Pd -> Preferences -> Path
the entry '.' (without quotes). suddenly the [msgfile]-[read(-problem is still existing.well, not very sudden.... bad to hear.
sorry for asking such basic questions: where is the .pdrc-file in the pd.app? what is the name of it?
authoritive answer: there is no such thing as a .pdrc in pd-0.38.4 thus it has no name. using File->Path should be perfect.
you could also try to start pd from a shell.
if somebody has an already compiled and fixed zexy.pd_darwin, i would really appreciate to get it.
any volunteers ?
